INDIAPOST TO LAUNCH E-COMMERCE CENTRE AT DELHI--- PBI NEWS

E-Commerce Centre of Post to start from Monday ( 11.5.2015)

            Considering the rapid growth of e-commerce business in the country in the recent past, the Department of Posts, through Delhi Postal Circle has taken up a project to establish the e-commerce Centre at Safdarjang, New Delhi-110003.This processing centre will handle exclusively all the e-commerce business with the state of the art technology driven facility for quick and smooth operation starting from booking till dispatch from the centre.

            The Centre is equipped with modern technology and newly introduced conveyor belt where parcels get sorted with the help of conveyor belt. As a result, the e-Commerce Centre is now capable of handling 30000 parcels/articles per day. The parcels are collected from the e-commerce customers, processed & dispatched within 24 hours to respective destination through quickest available flight/train, as the case may be.

            The leading e-commerce customers, viz., Amazon, Paytm, Yepme, Snapdeal, etc are already availing the benefits of fast, reliable and safe processing of their e-commerce parcels at the newly established e-commerce Centre at Safdarjang in New Delhi.

            The e-commerce Centre at Safdarjang, New Delhi -110003 is to be dedicated to the Nation by Sh. Ravi Shankar Prasad, Hon’ble Minister of Communications & Information Technology on 11th May 2015

            India Post Mobile App is also launched by the Hon’ble Minister of Communications & Information Technology on the occasion. .This is an android based application developed by Centre for Excellence in Postal Technology (CEPT), Mysore. The application includes features like real time tracking of accountable articles, Post Office search, Postage calculator, etc through Mobile Phone.

भारतीय डाक विभाग खोलेगा -कॉमर्स सेंटर

नई दिल्ली। भारत में ऑनलाइन शापिंग के बढ़ते रुझान का उठाने के लिए भारतीय डाक विभाग सोमवार सेदिल्ली में अपना -कामर्स केंद्र शुरू करने जा रही है।
[                       शुक्रवार को विभाग द्वारा जारी एक आधिकारिक बयान में कहा गया, ‘हाल के समय में देश में -कामर्स क्षेत्र में हुई तेज वृद्धि को देखते हुए डाक विभाग ने दिल्ली डाक सर्किल के जरिये सफदरजंगनयी दिल्ली में-कामर्स परियोजना स्थापित की है।’ यह प्रोसेसिंग केंद्र विशिष्ट रूप से सभी -कामर्स कारोबार को देखेगा।
      बयान में कहा गया है कि संचार एवं सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी मंत्री रविशंकर प्रसाद 11 मई, 2015 कोसफदरजंग में -कामर्स केंद्र को राष्ट्र को समर्पित करेंगे।

      यह केंद्र प्रतिदिन 30,000 पार्सलों की देखरेख करने में सक्षम होगा। -कामर्स ग्राहकों से ये पार्सल जुटाएजाएंगे और इन्हें 24 घंटे में संभावित गंतव्य के लिए भेज दिया जाएगा।

SAVINGS ACCOUNTS FOR GIRL CHILD

1450. SHRI RAJKUMAR DHOOT:

Will the Minister of COMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY be pleased to state:

(a)      whether the Ministry proposes to open one crore savings accounts for girl child in Maharashtra and rest of the country;

(b)      if so, the details thereof; and

(c)      how these accounts will be beneficial to the girl child?

            (a), (b) & (c)  A new Small Savings Scheme called "Sukanya Samriddhi Account" for the welfare of Girl Child has been launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister on 22nd January, 2015 in Panipat, Haryana. The account can be opened in Post Offices as well as in banks. With an aim to spread awareness and to provide benefit of such a good scheme to more and more number of girl child, the Department of Posts set target to open one crore Sukanya Samriddhi Accounts in the country, including Maharashtra. So far, more than 38 Lakhs accounts have been opened in different Post Office. The details of the scheme and facilities provided in these accounts which will be beneficial to the girl child are at Annexure-I. 

 ANNEXURE-I

  i.   ‘Sukanya Samriddhi Account’ is a new Small Savings Scheme for girl child.

 ii.   An account can be opened in the name of Girl Child under ‘Sukanya Samriddhi Account’ (SSA) by Guardian/Natural Guardian. Birth certificate of the girl child has to be produced. The depositor (parents or guardian) has to submit his/her identity and address proofs.

iii.   A Guardian can open only one account in the name of one girl child and maximum two accounts in the name of two different girl children. The natural or legal guardian can open two or three accounts if twin girls are born as second birth or triplets are born in the first birth itself.

iv.   An account under SSA can be opened up to the age of 10 years only from the date of birth. The girl child who had attained the age of 10 years, one year prior to the commencement of this scheme shall also eligible to open the SSA.

v.   Minimum amount for opening SSA is Rs 1000/- (subsequent deposit should be in multiple of Rs 100/-).

vi.   A minimum of one thousand rupees shall be deposited in a financial year but the total money deposited in an account on a single occasion or on multiple occasions shall not exceed Rs 1.5 Lakh in a financial year.

vii.   There is no limit on the number of deposits. The deposits in ‘Sukanya Samriddhi Account’ can be made in the form of Cash or Demand Draft or Cheque.

viii.   The interest rate for the financial year 2015-16 under ‘Sukanya Samriddhi Account’ is 9.2%. The rate of interest is not fixed and will be notified by the Central Government on financial yearly basis.

ix.   50% (half of the fund) of the accumulated amount in ‘Sukanya Samriddhi Account’ can be withdrawn for girl’s higher education and marriage after she attains 18 years of age.

x.   ‘Sukanya Samriddhi Account’ can be closed after completion of 21 years.

xi.   If account is not closed after maturity, balance will continue to earn interest as specified for the scheme from time to time.

xii.   The account can be transferred anywhere in India if the girl shifts to a place other than city or locality where the account stands.

xiii.   Investment in Sukanya Samriddhi Account has been covered under Section 80C of  IT Act.
