KERALA STATE CONVENTION OF AIPRPA HELD ON 2.10.2014

The State Convention of Kerala State to form the AIPRPA in that State has been convened on 2nd October, 2014. The State Convention was held at BTR Auditorium in Kerala State Electricity Board Workers Association, Thiruvananthapuram. The Convention was attended by 500 delegates representing all the 14 Districts of Kerala State as well as all the 27 Postal & RMS Divisions, Chief PMG/PMG  Offices, Director of Postal Accounts and was presided over by Comrade M.C.Nair the retired Senior Superintendent of Post Offices and a leading Defence Assistant who participated in 1968 Strike of CG Employees as a NFPE member.  

Hereunder we place some important photographs viz., Comrade A.Sampath Member of Parliament addressing the Convention with a view of the Delegates present in the house; Comrade M.Krishnan Secretary General Confederation summing up the discussions and presenting his address; Comrade K.Ragavendran General Secretary AIPRPA making his keynote address. Important leaders including Comrade C.C.Pillai Ex-Secretary General NFPE cum Advisor to AIPRPA CHQ, P.V.Chandrasekaran leader of AIBDPA, Comrade C.P.Ravindran leader of CGPA Kerala, Comrade N.C.Pillai AGS AIPRPA CHQ, Comrade H.V.Kuroop Organising General Secretary AIPRPA CHQ,addressed. Comrade P.V.Rajendran Kerala State NFPE COC General Secretary delivered welcome address and Comrade Ashok Kumar District Secretary of Coonfederation Thiruvananthapuram delivered vote of thanks. 

A team of Office Bearers led by Comrade M.C.Nair as State President, Comrade V.A.Mohan as State General Secretary, Comrade N.D.Babu as State Treasurer was unanimously elected. Sub: Grant of Children Education allowance/Hostel subsidy to third child when first / second child is not in a position to go to school due to severe disability.

References have been received from Zonal Railways seeking clarification regarding admissibility of Children Education Allowance / Hostel Subsidy in respect of third child of the Railway employee when the first / second child is not in a position to go to school as he/she is born with profound mental retardation or is totally invalid and cannot even go to a school meant for the special children.


2. The matter has been examined in consultation with DOP&T, the nodal Department in respect of aforesaid policy and they have intimated vide OM No.A-27012/1/2014-Estt(AL) dated 26-08-2014 that Children Education Allowance/Hostel Subsidy shall be admissible only for the eldest two surviving children except when the number of children exceeds two as a result of second child birth resulting in twins or multiple births. Copy of DoP&T’s OM is enclosed for information and guidance of all.

3. This disposes of CORE’s letter number E/O/39 dated 05-06-2-2014 & ICF’s letter number PB/WI/Misc/2014 dated 09-06-2014 on the matter.

CONFEDERATION DECLARES NEXT PROGRAMME OF ACTION

TWO HOURS MASS SQUATTING OF NOT LESS THAN 3000 EMPLOYEES AT EACH STATE CAPITAL AT A CENTRALLY LOCATED IMPORTANT PLACE ON 18.11.2014

CCGEW has   decided to further intensify the campaign and agitational programmes against the Government’s attitude towards the legitimate demands of the Central Government Employees. It is decided to organize two hours MASS SQUATING of not less than 3000 Central Government employees on 18th November 2014, at a centrally located important place at all the state capitals. Effort should be made to ensure maximum participation of Lady Comrades in the programme. Next phase of action will be decided after successful implementation of the above programme.
